magic box

The Magic Box By Kit Wright

WALT: use alliteration to describe.
Remember to:
Choose describing words that start with the same letter, egg tip of a tongue touching a tooth

Try to put in:
  • a sound
  • alliteration
  • a colour
  • something you can’t keep
  • something that doesn’t exist

If you finish quickly, write a verse about how and where
you will travel on your box.

The Magic Box

I will put in the box

a red crystal from china,
a hot chocolate Waterfall
and magic bouncing shoes.

I will put in the box

the sun and rain from Italy,
lollies from Samoa for when i feel sad
and a ginormous banana cake filled with cream.

I will put in the box

magic powers from Christchurch,
a Peace cloud from Stuart island
and golden neck less dripping in diamonds

My box is fashioned from coloured wood and stripey rainbow carpet, with girl power on the lid and money                   in the corners.

I shall fly in my box and jump down from a bubble cloud and then land on Fiji island.

This is my poem  of the magic box.

Speach marks

WALT: use speech marks Remember to: Put speech marks around the talking– what is being said. A new speaker starts on a new line. Punctuation (full stops, commas etc) go inside the speech marks. Direct Speech - Speech Marks Speech marks (or inverted commas) show when someone is talking. You will see them written in books as “speech” or ‘speech’.

Task One Put the speech marks in the correct places. Remember: The speech marks go around what is being said.
 “Hello,” said the man.
“What are you doing?” said Fred. “Stop!” shouted the policeman.
 “Wait a minute,” said Mark.
“Don’t I know you from somewhere?” “I know what we’ll do,” said Lucy. "We’ll go to the pictures."

Task Two Put the speech marks in the correct places once again. This time, however, you will also need to add all the other punctuation that is needed as well. Watch out for any questions or exclamations.
 “Hello,” said Greg.
 “You look tired,” said Martin
“Can I come in?” asked the man.
 “No!” screamed the man.
“Come here,” said Grandma, "I want to see how much you have grown.
“Is that my bag?" asked Daniel. "I thought I’d lost it."
“Run,” shouted Sally. "The dog is after us.
“I know what I want for my birthday" said Tina. "A brand new car.”

Keeping our self safe

Insects

>Are you scared of blue ladybugs when they fly? You should not be because they're harmless. Ladybugs have six legs and 3 body parts. Some ladybugs are blue, red, purple, yellow, dark blue and orange. Ladybugs walk really slow, as slow as a snail. Ladybugs are as little as a grain of rice and sometimes you can find them on leaves and sometimes you step on them. Ladybugs sometimes eat aphids from other peoples garden so gardeners love them. I think ladybugs are really cool because there are different kind of ladybugs all around the world. BY:SHARLENA

Little Red Riding Hood and the wolf

The wolf weekly WALT: describe Remember to: use looks, actions and characteristics use describing words similes and metaphors paragraphs (from planning sheet) A wolf might look just like a cute little puppy but don’t trust him, he is evil. Always beware of that wicked wolf’s smiled because behind that smile is a whole set of nasty teeth. The wolf’s eyes looks like the big, round yellow sun. The wolf’s fur looks like a nice cozy, big blanket that keeps you nice and warm. The wolf likes to dress up in granny's clothes and pretend to be kind and nice so that he can eat little Red Riding Hood. He also likes to ask heaps of questions to trick you into thinking that you are safe with him. The wolf likes to lie and sneak up on people so never go into the woods alone.
